Health and Safety

The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 sets out the responsibilities of employers, and explains how they must protect the health, safety and welfare of not only members of staff, but also anyone else who enters the premises, such as customers and contractors.

In the UK, in 2016/17, there were 609,000 non-fatal workplace injuries according to the Labour Force Survey, and 137 workers were killed whilst at work.
